Kickstart Your Skate Journey: Rumor Beginner Skateboard Camps This Summer!
Hey Edmonton and Leduc crews!
Are your kids eager to learn how to skateboard, or looking to dust off their board and build up some real confidence on four wheels? This summer, Rumor Boardshop is hosting a series of Beginner Skateboard Camps designed to take riders from total first-timers to confident cruisers.
Skateboarding can be intimidating at first, but our camps break it down in a safe, supportive, and incredibly fun environment.
📅 Choose Your Weekend
We are running three separate weekend camps this July and August. Pick the dates that work best for your summer schedule:

July Camp Capilano Skate Park (Session 1): July 8 & 9

July Camp Leduc Skate Park (Session 2): July 22 & 23

August Camp Mill Woods Skate Park: August 12 & 13
🛹 What Campers Will Learn
Our experienced instructors focus on the fundamental building blocks of skateboarding. No pressure, just progress! Over the weekend, we will cover:

The Basics: Finding your stance (goofy vs. regular), balancing, pushing, and stopping safely.

Park Riding: Learning how to kickturn, carve, and navigate banks and transitions.

Introduction to Tricks: Getting comfortable with drop-ins and the fundamentals of the ollie for those who are ready.

Skate Etiquette: How to safely navigate a busy skatepark and look out for other riders.
🎒 What to Bring

A skateboard (if you don't have one yet, pop into the shop ahead of time and we’ll get you set up with a proper beginner setup!).

A properly fitting helmet (mandatory).

Elbow, knee, and wrist guards (highly recommended).

A water bottle and plenty of energy!
